Position Overview:

The School of Nursing is looking for three dedicated nurse educators, who desire to join a dynamic School of Nursing. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply for the position of Clinical Assistant/Associate or Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor to teach in our nursing programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate effective teaching.
  • Pursue scholarly activities as appropriate for assigned tenure or clinical track position.
  • Participate in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation of the educational program.
  • Participate in development and implementation of standards for admission, progression, and graduation.
  • Participate in the professional mentoring of students.
  • Participate in Program, School, College, and University committees and activities.
  • Apply appropriate policies and regulations within the University, College, and School.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others within the University, the community, and clinical agencies.
  • Participate in activities promoting personal and professional educational growth.
  • Maintain clinical expertise for teaching nursing.
  • Uphold the Faculty Expectations Policy, which includes commitment to the COHS Shared Values.
  • Apply appropriate teaching methods supported by evidence.
  • Maintain all health requirements required by school and clinical agencies.

Salary and benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience and/or degrees. Possible 9, 10, or 11 month contracts for Clinical Associate and Tenure Track positions. Contracts to begin fall 2020. Minimum Qualifications at the Clinical Assistant Professor level:

  • Master's in Nursing.
  • Two to three years clinical experience in acute medical-surgical nursing.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Idaho (or Compact state) by starting date of employment.

Minimum Qualifications at the Clinical Associate Professor level:

  • Master's in Nursing.
  • Two to three years teaching experience at an accredited university with satisfactory student evaluations.
  • Two to three years of experience with undergraduate nursing curriculum.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Idaho (or Compact state) by starting date of employment.
  • Previous leadership responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications at the Tenure Track Assistant Professor level:

  • Doctoral degree.
  • Evidence of scholarship accomplishments.
  • Expertise in acute clinical medical-surgical nursing.

Minimum Qualifications at the Tenure Track Associate Professor level:

  • Doctoral degree.
  • Teaching experiences at an accredited university with stellar student evaluations.
  • Experience with undergraduate nursing curriculum.
  • Established scholarship focus.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Evidence of dissemination of nursing knowledge at a state, regional, and national level.
